Breaking Changes

We aim to maintain backward compatibility across all of our API releases; however, occasionally we need to make breaking changes. Below you will find a list of future and past breaking changes.

January 31, 2025

We are initiating the End of Life process for Paxos v1 APIs. No later than November 30, 2024, we are sunsetting the Paxos v1 APIs. This change ensures all Paxos customers are using supported APIs.

Customers can begin migrating today as most functionality available via the v1 APIs is already available in Paxos v2 APIs. The remaining gaps will be closed by mid Q3, 2024. We recommend you test your integrations in Sandbox during the testing window. See Migrating from  v1 to v2 API.

Please contact connectivity@paxos.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Paxos is upgrading its wallet infrastructure impacting customers' crypto deposit addresses for BTC, ETH, BCH, LTC and all ERC20 tokens. This is a planned change as part of our commitment to continuous product & security improvements. Users will be required to retrieve the new crypto deposit address via the UI or CreateDepositAddress API beginning February 15, 2024 and no later than June 13, 2024. Old deposit addresses will come with a deprecated warning until June 13, 2024. After this date they will no longer be supported.

If you have any questions, or for more information on how to retrieve your deposit address, please visit our help center or contact help@paxos.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Paxos plans to update our FIX infrastructure to improve performance, reliability and security for FIX connections. This change enables multiple FIX connections for a single account and improves TLS certificate management, among other changes. All existing FIX users are required to migrate to the new infrastructure no later than May 4, 2024. See the migration guide or contact your Paxos Representative for details.

We are writing to inform you that Paxos has initiated an End of Life (EOL) process for the List Tickers v2 API. We will discontinue the service November 15, 2023. After a review of our existing product offerings, we determined that the Get Ticker and List Prices services provide the same fields for pricing information for your trading needs.

Beginning August 2, 2023, List Tickers is deprecated, initiating a minimum of a 90-day window for transitioning to Get Ticker and List Prices endpoints. To help with this process, we’ve put together a migration guide providing suggestions on migrating off List Tickers endpoint.

Expected End of Life Date
  • Sandbox: November 1, 2023
  • Production: November 15, 2023
Version Impacted Paxos v2 REST API
Service Impacted List Tickers
Summary The Get Ticker and List Prices services provide the same fields for pricing information for your trading needs. All integrations must migrate to the Get Ticker and List Prices services.

July 11, 2023

We are planning a breaking change to the Paxos v2 REST API List Deposit Addresses service. On July 11, 2023, we are adding a default of 100 results to the limit query parameter and restricting the maximum page limit to 1,000. The 100-results-per-page default applies when no limit, or zero (0), is specified. If the pagination limit is set in excess of 1,000 items, the API returns a Bad Request error, irrespective of the actual number of retrieved items. This change enables Paxos to improve platform stability for all users.

The change is scheduled to be deployed in the Sandbox environment on June 26, 2023, giving you time to prepare and test your integrations. We recommend you test your integrations in Sandbox during the testing window.

Expected Release Date
  • Sandbox: June 26, 2023
  • Production: July 11, 2023
Version Impacted Paxos v2 REST API
Service Impacted Limit Deposit Addresses
Parameter Modified limit
Summary To improve platform stability for all users, all integrations must set a paginated results limit of 1,000 or less.

Please contact connectivity@paxos.com if you have any questions or concerns.

  • NOTE: All itBit REST API services will be turned off on April 26, 2023.

Paxos has initiated an End of Life (EOL) process for the itBit REST API (v1). We will discontinue service for all itBit REST Production (api.itbit.com/v1/) and Sandbox (sandbox-api.itbit.com/v1/) APIs on April 26, 2023. After a review of our existing product offerings, we determined that the Paxos REST API (v2) provides a better experience for all users and should be used as the primary entry point for all REST services. See the migration guide for details.
